Alastair Reynolds

  • Alastair Reynolds was born in Wales, UK, in 1966. He studied astronomy at Newcastle University, then did a PhD on optical observations of X-ray binary stars at St Andrews, work he then continued within ESA's astrophysics department at ESTEC in the Netherlands.

    He has been publishing science fiction since 1990 and turned full-time writer in 2004, and has now written twenty two novels and more than eighty short stories, many of them focused on humanity's long-term future in the solar system and beyond.

Kartik Kumar

  • Kartik is CEO at satsearch B.V., the global marketplace for the space industry. He studied Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology, specializing in astrodynamics.

    Kartik is passionate about opening up the space industry. Accordingly, during his PhD, he started an open-source astrodynamics toolbox called Tudat (TU Delft Astrodynamics Toolbox) that is now widely used for education and research.

    Kartik has previously been actively involved in the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and the Austrian Space Forum (OeWF). He is currently a Karman Fellow.

  • Daniela Jović is the Founder of ORBITALYX and Mission Lead of CroCube, Croatia’s first satellite. With experience in CubeSat missions, launch procurement, and business development, she supports startups, research teams, and emerging space nations in navigating the NewSpace landscape.

    As a mentor with ESA BIC and the Cassini Business Accelerator, and through active roles at leading space conferences, she advocates for accessibility, collaboration, and stronger visibility in the sector.

Giulia Guerrieri

  • Giulia serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Impulso.Space and bring a background in Aerospace Engineering.

    I oversee mission operations for satellite projects, coordinate launch campaigns, and lead the company’s marketing and communication strategy, combining technical knowledge with a commercial approach. I combine technical expertise with a commercial approach to support clients and build strong, long-term partnerships in the space sector.

Bence Mátyás

  • Dr. Bence Mátyás, Founder and CEO of Genesis Space Flight Laboratories, ESA BIC awardee, mission lead of MAYASAT-1, and author of multiple research papers and books, is a multiple idea and know-how owner. He is building the GEN reentry capsules and working to expand access to space, making microgravity research truly accessible.

  • Genesis Space Flight Laboratories develops GEN reentry capsules, returnable orbiting laboratories that make microgravity research and in-space manufacturing accessible at scale. After a successful debut with MayaSat-1 on SpaceX Transporter-14 in June 2025, the company has secured three follow-up launches in 2026 and is preparing a larger GEN vehicle for 2027 to serve industrial customers. Alongside missions, Genesis SFL is building a product portfolio of onboard computers, deployables, and scientific payload modules, creating multiple revenue streams while lowering entry barriers for new-space startups.

Ondřej Krepl

  • Ondrej Krepl is the CTO of Stellar Exploration s.r.o., leading the development of Electrical Power and Chemical Propulsion Systems for small satellites.

    With over 12 years of aerospace experience through roles in a global aviation company and a major European spacecraft Large System Integrator, he combines systems engineering expertise with strategic leadership. He contributed to Ariane 6 structures, designed parts flying on GEO, and authored a Czech scientific small satellite mission. He is also the founder of Stellar Nuclear — a company on a mission to make space nuclear again.

  • Stellar Exploration s.r.o. is a European SME which specializes in Electric Power Systems, Chemical Propulsion Systems and RF technologies for Small Satellites. A team of 28+ multi-disciplinary engineers executes end-to-end product development in Brno and Prague, Czech Republic.

ESA BIC Slovakia Manager, Vice-Dean for Development of TUKE, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the East Slovak Space Cluster

  • Marek is a leading Slovak expert in the field of aerospace. He currently works as the Manager of ESA BIC for Slovakia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the East Slovak Space Cluster.

    His professional activities at the Faculty of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Košice are focused on the areas of management of unmanned systems and security of communication systems. Throughout his career he developed several international projects and industry corporations leading to new services and products
